Chair’s Update – April 2024

Revised bylaws were ratified during a special meeting of the CDS membership and Board of Directors on March 25th. Many thanks to all who invested time and effort to ensure productive deliberations!

As promised, the Board of Directors has decided to honor all previous election results through appointments under the new bylaws. Steve Jeanetta will continue Board service as the Chair until July 2025. Bo Beaulieu will continue as the Treasurer until July 2025. Lisa Gilchrist is stepping down as Secretary due to increased work demands. Neil Linscheid and James Calvin will continue as Directors until July 2025. Dan Kahl and Sarah Massengale will continue as Directors until July 2026. Therefore, the 2024 Board election will include candidates for the Vice Chair and Secretary officer seats (each to serve two-year terms), along with one two-year Director seat and one one-year Director seat (to accomplish staggered terms of three Director seats every other year).

Please consider self-nominating or nominating another CDS Member for one of these Board seats! The election will take place in June and new Board members will begin their terms of service after the Annual Business Meeting in July. Remember, Board service is a significant fiduciary responsibility and time commitment as CDS continues its developmental path toward increased professionalism supported by a contracted Executive Director in concert with a policy-oriented Board of Directors.
