Chair’s Message – May 2025

Greetings everyone,

Hi everyone, I hope your spring season is going well. For CDS this part of spring is a reminder that we will soon be gathering for our conference and annual meeting. It’s less than six weeks away! Conference planning is in high gear. Craig Talmage and his team at Hobart and William Smith Colleges are finishing up preparations for hosting us in Geneva, NY and the program team recently published the schedule of the conference (https://cdsociety.org/2025sessions/). There are more than 100 sessions, 8 pre-conference workshops, and 8 mobile learning workshops. Details for the plenary sessions will be posted on the website soon. It should be a great conference in a beautiful venue. I hope you can attend.

The CDS elections are underway and will close on June 14 at 11:59 pm. CDS members eligible to vote received an individual voting link in their email. If you did not receive one and you think you should have, please follow up with Tammy Baxter (director@cdsociety.org). If you have not had a chance to check it out yet, we have a new job board. It’s easy for those with jobs to post them on the site and if you’re interested in tracking the positions it’s a simple process to register and stay informed about the positions being offered.  To post a job or register to track a position please visit cdjobboard.com or click the CD Job Board link on the CDS website at cdsociety.org It is free to post a job until July 15. If you have a position open, please consider posting with the CDS job board.

It’s been a crazy 2025 so far and I don’t see any sign that the craziness will abate anytime soon. I look forward to seeing everyone in Geneva so we can unpack what’s happening in the world around us, explore ways we can support each other and our work going forward, and get energized to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

In service,

Stephen Jeanetta
