Greetings everyone,
The conference in Geneva begins in just a few days. We have over 190 people registered and lots of exciting things planned. There will be some new wrinkles that I am sure people will enjoy such as the Monday night event in downtown Geneva and there will be things people recognize that gives the event a uniquely CDS flavor. I am really excited to get to New York, reconnect with colleagues, and learn from everyone what’s going on in your part of the community development field.
The CDS board elections results are in and I want to thank everyone for participating this year. I believe we had close to 90 members participate in the elections. I am honored to continue in my role as chair for one more term. It has been a privilege to play that role this past year and I look forward to working with the new board in the next year.
The officers for the next year include myself as the chair, Dan Kahl as the vice chair, Wilson Majee as secretary and Bo Beaulieu as the treasurer. Board members include those elected this year (Neil Linscheid, Jerold Braatz and Jesse Taylor) and those continuing on the board (Sara Hultine Massengale, Todd Johnson, and Tanner Knorr). Kathy Lopez will serve as the student representative to the board for the 2025-2026 term. Please feel free to reach out to any of us on the board if you have something you would like to CDS work on in the coming year or if you would like to get more involved in the society. There are many ways you can contribute your talents.
I want to thank James Calvin and Kathy Lopez for their service as board members. James served on the board for three years and was a great advocate for CDS and helped us transition to our new board structure. Kathy filled a one-year appointment this past year and led the membership committee and participated on the program committee.
I look forward to seeing you all in Geneva!
In service,
